This website is a focus for those who work in support of the Western Health & Social Services Board Sexual Health Strategy. It reflects the work of people in the statutory, voluntary and community sectors who address sexual health issues from a wide variety of perspectives.
The Strategy was launched in January 2004, and targets a population of 284,000 people who live in a geographical area that includes the second largest city in N Ireland and some of the most rural areas.
We aim to equip people with the skills, knowledge and confidence to make choices that enable them to have fulfilling social and personal relationships. We want to ensure that people have accessible and appropriate services to support them.
The key health issues for us are teenage pregnancy and the increase in sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS.
This website will help us share what we do and learn, and track the progress of the strategy as the action plan is implemented.
The Strategy document can be found in the publications section.Click Here
